Just when the world, or at least residents of the UK, thought they had seen everything with Samson, the huge Great Dane/Newfoundland mix that weighted almost 20 stones (280 pounds), you now get to read and hear about Sheroo.
Wolverhampton (a county in England) is proud to introduce you to Sheroo, a three-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff who is owned by Tarlochan Singh Bhopari, residents of Dudley Road, Blakenhall. Sheroo is a purebred Mastiff that presently weighs 19 stones 7 lb and is still growing! The 52-year old Mr. Singh believes that Sheroo will exceed 20 stones before he’s finished growing. He does believe when the growing spurt is complete, Sheroo will be the world’s largest dog.
Sheroo is not the only large dog in his family. He has a Neapolitan Mastiff brother Toby, who is only half a stone lighter than Sheroo. Sheroo stands almost 6 feet tall when standing on his hind legs. He has no problem lavishing Mr. Singh with love and kisses when the desire strikes him. He is so large that Singh believes his head would fit in Sheroo’s mouth. He knows this because at one time he tried it, just to check if his mouth was as large as it actually looked. Now that’s a huge dog!
Although some people are afraid of large dogs, Mr. Singh says Sheroo and his brother Toby are like puppies, full of playfulness and very good-natured. Sheroo and Toby are great playmates and friends for Mr. Singh as well as being excellent watchdogs. People do not enter the home unless Sheroo and Toby ‘say’ it’s O.K. They are both like one of Singh’s children and definitely members of the family and not just your typical dogs. When they say dog is man’s best friend, they definitely had these two massive dogs in mind.
Running Errands with Sheroo and his Brother
If you think taking your dog to the vet is a chore, just imagine what it’s like for Mr. Singh with not just Sheroo, but Toby as well. Unless he has a truck, it’s doubtful they both fit in an average car at the same time without some difficulty. In addition, he knows it will only get harder as Sheroo gets larger. Walking them has to be a huge task as well. The great part about this is that he never has any worries about being mugged or attacked. After all, who would dare touch him when he has over 500 pounds worth of animals surrounding him! To Mr. Singh, Sheroo and Toby are more than just dogs to be stared at because of their size-they are truly man’s best friend-at least this man!
We are trying to get an update about Sheroo from Mr. Singh to see if he has grown to a size near the world’s largest dog record. Stay tuned!
